Distraction burglaries

Alert message sent 17/10/2019 11:24:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Due to recent reports of distraction burglaries in the Rushall Manor area of Walsall, in which an offender or offenders trick or distract the occupant to gain access to their homes, with the intention to steal property. The local neighbourhood team are asking residents to be extra vigilant in and around their properties.

Our advice is to not let anyone into your homes, if you do not know them or if you are not expecting the visit without checking for identification first. Please take your time when checking ID's.

The offenders can be very convincing and will use a variety of tricks to gain access into your home. If in any doubt do not let the person or persons in and dial 999 immediately.

For further advice please speak to your local neighbourhood policing team or check out the West Midlands Police website, for more information and advice.
