Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Information has been received that the Walsall area has seen a rise in distraction burglaries specifically on elderly lone residents, whereby the MO is to knock the door of target premises and when the occupant answers, the offender asks if they can borrow some money in order to get a taxi to visit his mom/dad in hospital making out that he is a neighbour.

If you encounter any similar situation or have any information, please do not hesitate to contact West Midlands Police on 101 (999 in Emergency Situations) or via our web-chat facility WMP Online
