Taxi Robberies

West Midlands Police are investigating incidents in and around the Aston area of Birmingham involving a number of people, some armed with knives approaching taxi drivers. The incidents have left the drivers shocked and distressed and some have been robbed. We can not give any further details as yet.

Please be vigilant when being dispatched to jobs. 
For despatchers please be aware of regular callers to a particular area.
Be aware of your surroundings when waiting for passengers.
If your taxi has video monitoring devices make sure they are working correctly.

If you feel you are in immediate danger please call 999. If you are able to drive away in a safe manner please do so and call Police when you have come to a safe stop.
