Alert message sent 06/03/2018 14:14:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Dear Citizen

Overnight in the Vesey Ward we have had 3 crimes reported all linked to the theft of a motor vehicles. There are numerous ways this can be tackled and prevented by simply considering the following:

  • Make sure car keys are not kept near any doors or windows overnight, make sure they are away from sight.
  • The use of steering wheel locks is a great visual deterrent, to keep your motor vehicle safe when unattended.  Thatcham’s steering wheel lock is a great security feature and has been tested and proved to be 100% effective in Police tests.   Also Thatcham provide great motorcycle security features such as approved locks and chains and ground anchors.
  • We have a generous offer from disklock they are offering 15% discount from their products exclusively for the WMnow users. Ordering is simple just log onto www.disklockuk.co.uk and enter the code: wmpolice15 at the checkout.
  • The installation of alarms is also effective in regards to keeping your motor vehicle safe when unattended. Factory fitted alarms do work but this can be improved by the installation off after market alarms.

Motor vehicle security is key to tackling and stopping motor vehicles being stolen within the area. The addition of security features can help stop and prevent these incidents from occurring.
